Kaden’s 3rd Birthday

We celebrated a couple of days late and we were privileged to have Uncle Mark come down for dinner that day so he was able to share in the very minor festivities.

This was the very pathetic cake featured at the party.  I used a cake pan that only slightly left the desire Big Bird imprint — and when I added the frosting…well, we scraped off some of the face you could see who it was SUPPOSED to be!! Good news is, Kaden didn’t mind a bit.

Garrett William Goldsborough – We Miss You With All the Love in Our Hearts

We carved pumpkins this year!!!

Nana and Poppy bought the entire family pumpkins wo we carved them!  In the past we have been party poopers in this regard so this is definitely a step in the right direction — only problem is, we carved them a little too early so they turned all wrinkly and smooshed looking — but we won’t include pictures of that here.

Oh and I forgot to mention we painted our pumpkins too...

Grace Won Scariest Costume – Can You See Why?

Grace was invited to one of her favorite friend’s birthday party – Marlie.  And this year it was a costume party.  Thanks to Nana, we had a high quality witch costume and Grace let mom do the makeup – green face and all.

Dorian’s 5th Birthday Party – Unicorns Was the Theme!

Birthday Girl Photo Shoot – September 16, 2009

I never realized the trouble I would have if I tried to explain that Dorian’s birthday was on Wednesday and that her party was on a different day.  When I told Dorian “today is your birthday” she said “But mom! Today can’t be my birthday!  Where’s my party?  Where are my friends?”  We took these pictures so that we would have a nice photo for her birthday cake — she’s wearing her favorite dress at that time.

Parents’ Weekend – BYU-Idaho

The one thing you can say for attending a parents weekend at BYU-I is that you are given the opportunity to feel the Spirit.  The speech by the president was uplifting and the Luau entertainment was awesome.

Oquirrh Mountain Cornerstone Choir – August 21, 2009 9 am

It was, of course, a wonderful experience. We sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Song of Praise” – and we were all about 20 feet away from President Monson. This picture was taken at the Wednesday rehearsal two days before. Steve commented on it being a bit of a letdown to go to school and sing in the choir there and compare it to the sound we made with this choir – 175 people who have sung in choirs most of their lives.

A Grace Hairdo Original

Grace woke up this day for school and said she had a great idea for what she wanted to do with her hair.  Have you ever seen tiny little umbrellas used like this?

“Going to school with a new backpack!”

One of the KEY elements of starting school is getting a new back pack like your older brothers and sisters.  So….because Dorian is starting kindergarten very, very soon, her big day came!!!

 And her big sister was there cheering her on all the way!!  They even sang a song that I’d share if I could post it on here…

There are simply not enough pictures of Kaden on our family blog — which is not at all representative of how much we love him!  He’s the BEST!  But to start remedying the lack of picture situation, here’s a start.  He never agrees to wear a hat when it’s cold or hot outside — but for a couple of days, he insisted on wearing this — so I took a picture of it.

These are two topics that come up alot around the Kelly home during a typical week.  About the shirt…for some reason the shirt is either lost or dirty.  This is a representative photo of the kind of food samples we might find on the shirt – hey – at least we were able to find it, right?

Grace & Principal’s Pride – August 5, 2009

Oakcrest Elementary has a little awards ceremony each term for students who have done something well — this time Grace won principal’s pride for “being courteous and polite and for being on task and helpful.”   Wow!

Steven’s 15th Birthday – June 2009

Yes, we’re happy Steven seems to have friends. At least he was able to produce a few to have a birthday party. So it was a good group and a relatively nice photo opportunity. And aint it just like a teenager? One minute lookin’ goofy and the next lookin’ too cool. Don’t know why he’s looking so serious in this one — but the next one will show more of the real Steve.

We were down in St George for Jim & Gilma Kelly’s 50th wedding anniversary and we were swimming at a pool.  All of the sudden, it started raining outside and Kaden didn’t understand what happened!

Grandma Kelly gave Justine this purse and I thought it was sooooooooooo cool that she had the perfect colors to match…

June 4, 2009 – Justine’s Graduation

The graduation ceremony began at 10 am — held at the E Center. We stayed long enough to see Justine come out onto the floor and we listened to a few speeches but then we could not take the “looking into the future” or the ” let’s schmooze the school administrators” speeches so we went to our car early.
